Brakes (left pedal in cars) come in handy sometimes. Hit them once you positioned the car correctly before the turn, and release them right when you get in. Sounds like you're losing speed, but passing the corner slowly is still better than going all the way down the hill, albeit at free fall speed, also called terminal velocity for a reason. The brake pedal is your friend. And it’s free to use.
