YouTubeHomebrew SDR SSB Rig - Part 9 First On-Air QSO!
First on-air QSO (with Gary ZL3SV) using a spare RF amp out of the junkbox. I couldn't resist getting it on the air. The QSO runs up until the 15:28 minute mark, after which is a run down on the changes made since the last video. By all accounts the transmit audio was a good, which is great news, especially as no attempt has been made to optimize the filters at this stage.
The plan now is to work on a higher power RF amp for the transmitter. After that, I may look at other software changes to add additional functionality, as well as optimize the filters. I also need to re-build the radio and perhaps put it into a box.
